AAAR 38th Annual Conference

Hands-On Instrumentation Tutorials

Free to all AAAR 2020 Virtual Conference attendees — these special sessions will be held on Tuesday, October 13th. Use the zoom links below to join and watch live. Vendors will be available to answer questions after the demonstrations.

Use of the Aerodynamic Aerosol Classifier by Jonathon Symonds

Presented by Cambustion
10:00-10:30 AM
Join the meeting using this Zoom link.

Description: The AAC classifies particles by aerodynamic diameter over a range of 25 nm – 5 µm. This tutorial covers using the AAC to select particles for further on-line analysis, and also using the AAC with a CPC to produce a size spectrum.

Overview of the Aero Particle Sizer and Aero Select Instruments

Presented by ANCON
10:30-11:00 AM
Join the meeting using this Zoom link.

Description: The Aero Particle Sizer provides the performance of a laboratory grade instrument in a portable, self-contained package to enable field studies and in-situ research. It is a simple to use instrument with the ability to measure particle size distributions over a range of 10nm to 20µm. The Aero Select detects particles across the entire aerosol range from 1nm to 35µm, particles are collected simultaneously using both inertial deposition and diffusion and separated into 12 size channels.

Maintaining your 3750-series CPCs for optimum performance

Presented by TSI
1:00-1:30 PM
Join the meeting using this Zoom link.

Description: Proper maintenance of your CPC can help keep it in optimal operating condition, and ensure that it provides accurate measurements. Join this tutorial to learn both the ‘when’ and the ‘how’ when it comes to maintaining your CPC 3750-series CPCs.

Overview of the BioSpot-VIVAS™ and the Spot Sampler™ bioaerosol collectors

Presented by Aerosol Devices
1:30-2:00 PM
Join the meeting using this Zoom link.

Description: Aerosol Devices’ gentle condensation growth capture technology is a superior method of sampling viable viruses such as SARS-CoV-2. The product’s design engineer will give a hands-on tutorial showing two instruments that are being used today for this purpose – the BioSpot-VIVAS™ and the Spot Sampler™ bioaerosol collectors. In addition to viruses, the samplers can be used to collect respirable bacteria, fungal spores, allergens, proteins and other particles of biological origin.
