Present: Sergey Nizkorodov, Kelley Barsanti, Amy Sullivan, Jonathan Reid, Chris Hogan, Akua Asa-Awuku, Andrea Ferro, Leah Williams + approx. 14 members
President Sergey Nizkorodov called the meeting to order at 12:31 PT.
SN presented Highlights from 2020-2021 (slides), including: updates provided on new media initiative update, bylaws vote, and new Hering award, recognition of AAAR fellows, student chapters, organizational members, followed by a membership and demographics overview.
Kelley Barsanti led review of 2020 minutes and vote to approve. Motion for approval made by Leah Williams and seconded by Akua Asa-Awuku; minutes approved unanimously.
Amy Sullivan presented the treasurer’s report (slides), including total assets, income and expenses, board approved budgets (with in-person and virtual conference options, if needed), strategic projects and new initiatives, and endowments funds, including the new Hering award fund raising success.
AS&T Editor in Chief Jonathan presented an update on AS&T (slides), on submission, acceptances, and time to decision numbers, noting record number of submissions and increase in impact factor. Also highlighted initiatives for growing and sustaining reach.
2021 conference chair Chris Hogan gave conference update; registration up slightly from last year; noted while number of platinum sponsors decreased the cost for this level was higher.
Answered questions about attendance in tutorials and plenaries.
Andrea Ferro presented the election. New officers, board members, and working group vice chairs were announced.
Sergey Nizkorodov thanked outgoing members: BOD-Arantza Eiguren, Jesse Kroll, Lea Hildebrandt Ruiz; Secretary-Kelley Barsanti, and President-Sergey Nizkorodov.
Sergey Nizkorodov passed the virtual gave to Akua Asa-Awuku. Akua Asa-Awuku thanked Sergey Nizkorodov for his leadership.
Andrea Ferro motioned to adjourn meeting, Leah Williams seconded.
