AAAR 40th Annual Conference

Meeting Health Policy

It is well documented that diseases, such as SARS-COV-2, can be transmitted by exposure to respiratory fluids (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/science/science-briefs/sars-cov-2-transmission.html). The following 2022-2023 AAAR meeting policy was approved by the AAAR Board of Directors on July 8th, 2022 and will be implemented to mitigate the spread of disease during all in-person AAAR meeting events.

Masks

  • Face coverings will be REQUIRED in all indoor public settings regardless of vaccination status (Exceptions are permitted: when speaking/presenting in an official capacity at AAAR events or when immediately eating/drinking). Face coverings must be non-cloth masks and  will be required, regardless of current city, county, or state policies at the time of the meeting.

Vaccinations

  • All meeting attendees must be fully vaccinated (and up to date as defined >here) for COVID-19 by the date of attendance unless they are unable to be vaccinated for health or religious reasons. For more information on how the CDC defines fully vaccinated, please click here.
  • All attendees will need to show proof of vaccination upon check-in at the conference or event. The AAAR management team will maintain confidentiality with regard to an attendee's vaccination status but will use the information to ensure compliance with all COVID-related policies.
  • All attendees who are not fully vaccinated due to health or religious reasons must submit a negative COVID test (PCR or proctored rapid antigen test) taken within 72 hours prior to attendance at the meeting.  Results must be submitted to the conference registration staff.

Other Considerations

  • If you do not feel well or show any symptoms of COVID-19, please stay home. Please refer to the CDC Screening questionnaire as a resource.
  • Please also be aware that final decisions on additional safety protocols may be made just before the event, based on the overall vaccination rate of attendees, public health conditions and guidelines at the meeting location close to the meeting dates. AAAR reserves the right to impose stricter policies and protocols than those outlined here.
