All sessions of the annual conference will be held at the Oregon Convention Center, which is a short walk (or a quick MAX light rail ride) from the two hotels at which AAAR sleeping room blocks are reserved.

Two hotel blocks have been reserved .  Reservations are now open at both hotels.

PLEASE NOTE:
RESERVATIONS AT BOTH HOTELS NEED TO BE MADE NO LATER THAN TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 2013.  It is anticipated that the AAAR block will sell out very quickly, and availability and rate cannot be guaranteed once the block is filled.

DoubleTree by Hilton Portland

Conveniently located in the Lloyd District, just four blocks from the Oregon Convention Center, the DoubleTree by Hilton Portland provides easy access to Oregon’s largest shopping mall, the Lloyd Center Mall.  Enjoy tax-free shopping or indulge in a delicious meal with numerous dining options located both in the mall and on the streets near the hotel.  Although known for welcoming you with a warm chocolate chip cookie, the DoubleTree by Hilton Portland offers many more amenities: a 24-hour fitness center, two restaurants featuring local, sustainable cuisine plus a coffee shop, easy access to the MAX light rail line which provides economical transportation to/from the Portland International Airport and the downtown metropolitan area, and comfortable, recently renovated sleeping rooms.  Self-parking is available at the rate of $18/day; this rate is subject to change.

Red Lion Hotel Portland Convention Center

Located one block from the Oregon Convention Center, the three-star Red Lion Hotel Portland Convention Center is within walking distance of Lloyd Center Mall, the Rose Garden Arena, and some of Portland’s best restaurants and entertainment. Across the street is the MAX light rail system, providing service to downtown Portland as well as service to/from Portland International Airport for a minimal fee.  The 173 newly decorated guest rooms are 100% non-smoking and offer many amenities including free Wi-Fi, refrigerators, coffeemakers, voicemail, and telephone data ports. The hotel also has a fitness center, guest laundry, same day valet service and a market place for sundries.  Parking is available for $14 per night; this rate is subject to change.

2.  In the upper left side of the page, there is a Welcome box.  Type Portland in the box.  Click on Red Lion Hotel Portland Convention Center.

3.  Select your dates.

4.  Select the number of adults and if applicable, children.

5.  Enter either AMER0925 or AMERIGOV.

6.  Click DONE. Click SUBMIT.

7.  SELECT Red Lion Hotel Portland Convention Center.

8.  Select the type of room you wish and click on “ADD TO CART AND CHECKOUT”.  Continue with your personal and payment information.
